Do you want to help improve the business and trade relationship between Sweden and Bangladesh? Do you also have an interest in politics and are looking for a new challenge in your career? The Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka is recruiting a qualified Trade Officer with expertise and experience from working with trade and business in an international context.
Your main task will be to actively promote increased trade and investment between Sweden and Bangladesh, promote Swedish companies in Bangladesh or guide new companies that want to establish themselves in the country. You will also be responsible for economic and political analyses.
The Embassy represents the Swedish Government in Bangladesh and is responsible for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in a range of different areas. The Embassy has a mission to promote political contacts, support Swedish trade and investments and work with development cooperation in and with Bangladesh. The work is executed in close collaboration within the Development Cooperation team at the Embassy. You will be reporting to the Head of the Section, but you will also work closely with the Ambassador and the thematic programme officers in the Development Section at the Embassy.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Advance the overall Swedish export promotion, trade facilitation, and business development in Bangladesh.
Liaising between the Embassy in Dhaka and Business Sweden in New Delhi for the purpose of strengthening the commercial ties between Sweden and Bangladesh.
Keep updated with Swedish and Bangladeshi policies and economic development with regards to trade and sustainable business, including EU regulatory frameworks e.g. GSP+.
Represent the Embassy in relevant seminars, webinars and other trade events as per economic and strategic interests of Sweden-Bangladesh bilateral trade relations.

Within the area of trade and economic cooperation, the Embassy works to deepen and expand bilateral trade relations and to support an improved business climate for Swedish companies. The Embassy is now looking for a qualified Trade facilitator for the Political, Trade and Communication Section. Professional and personal qualifications
• University Degree in Economics or Business Administration or equivalent academic qualification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in similar roles within international organizations, Embassies, large non-governmental organizations, or the private sector/international business.
• Strong ability to initiate and work independently, as well as capacity to meet deadlines with a high level of quality and accuracy.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate in a clear and concise way.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. We seek someone who is flexible, and who can organize and plan their work independently, take initiatives and has the ability to work well in a team and respect individual differences.
• Excellent knowledge of English in speech and writing.

7. Undertake frequent field visits to monitor health and other related income generating project activities within the district, as well as supervise the skill development and management trainings.
8. Ensure proper use and maintenance of vehicles and hospital equipment including medical equipment/instruments, generators, electrical sub-station, water treatment plant, medical van, satellite clinics, and other moveable /immovable assets.
9. Actively participate in improving the quality of nursing education through periodic review or evaluation.
Academic qualification, experience and required competencies:
• Minimum post-graduate degree in any discipline and from a recognized university. A degree in business administration/public health will have added advantage
• Experience with renowned organizations and a minimum 8 years exposure in decision-making and senior management role

Main Job Responsibilities
As Programme Assistant / Financial Assistant, you would have a key role in providing administrative support, quality assurance support and maintaining information systems. This includes:
- – Managing the calendar of the Head of Development Cooperation.
– Preparing and managing Development Cooperation Section meetings and other Embassy events.
– Being focal point for Sida´s International Training Programme (ITP). – Manage the ITP, including full course administration process and alumni data base maintenance.
– Assisting the Controllers with the monthly follow up of development cooperation portfolio reports and updates and perform other quality assurance support.
